'Donatello' hatbox offers the richest selection of Biscottificio Antonio Mattei products: the Prato Biscuits (also called 'Cantuccio' or 'Cantuccino' with Almonds) and the subsequent varieties of the Biscuit with Dark Chocolate, Pistacchio and Almonds and ones with Piedmont Hazelnuts; all the specialties exclusively produced in the biscuit factory plus a selection of dessert wines.
Contains a 500 g pack of Prato Biscuits, a 500 g pack of Dark Chocolate Biscuits, a 500 g pack of Pistachio and Almond Biscuits and a 500 g pack of Piedmont IGP Hazelnut Biscuits, chocolate covered candied fruit (65 g Mandarins and 80 g Amarene), Cremino (280 g) and stuffed Boules (200 g) by Maglio, assorted Barbero nougats (200 g), Deseo Fragrant butter shortbread biscuits enriched with extra dark chocolate chips, a 500 ml bottle of Santa Cristina Antinori Vinsanto and a 750 ml bottle of Moscato d'Asti Prunotto.
Prato Biscuits are prepared with 5 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds and pine nuts, they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
The Dark Chocolate biscuits and the ones with Pistacchios and Almonds or Hazelunts are made with the same ingredients as the Prato biscuits (flour, sugar, free-range eggs) but instead of almonds and pine nuts, fine dark chocolate (85 % cocoa), pistacchios and almonds or hazelnuts are added.

DESEO products are handmade, prepared daily without using preservatives or other chemical agents. They do not use palm oil because of its negative impact on your health and the environment.

Candied Fruit Covered with Dark Chocolate: Calabrian Clementine wedges from organic farming from the Sibari plain, infused in cherry distillate and wrapped in dark chocolate that preserves its aromas, taste and delicacy, and velvety black cherries candied in Cherry liqueur, veiled in the finest dark chocolate. With each taste, the freshness of the fruit is combined with the warmth of the liqueur and chocolate.
Maglio rejects the classic Cremino, made only with milk chocolate and pure hazelnut paste, in two rich variants: milk and dark. To
unite these two variants is the addition of "Filippo Ceo" almonds (native Apulian varieties) and whole "Giffoni" hazelnuts.

The Antinori Santa Cristina Vinsanto is intense yellow with amber highlights, the wine shows aromas of toasted hazelnuts, honey, and apricots along with light notes of citrus fruit.
Full-bodied on the palate with honeyed and nutty flavors, it is a long and supple wine with an intense finish of chestnut flour and herbs.
The Cuvée Royale is produced from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc grapes cultivated at the Montenisa estate.
Its stay on its fine lees brings out all of its intense aromas of white peaches, apples, and toast.
The colour is straw yellow, the bubbling rich and creamy with delicate and persistent bubbles.
The palate shows the typical liveliness of a Brut along with notes of dried apricots, a lovely and unusual balance of great expressiveness and elegance. -
History
Since 1858 Prato Biscuits have been baked daily and hand-packed one by one, in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
The Dark Chocolate Biscuits came out of our oven for the first time in 2013, these are also hand-packed one by one, originally in a red bag, but since 2019 in the Blu Mattei bag with a Red label.
In 2017 the Mattei family added the new Pistachio and Almond flavour.
In 2019 a new, even more delicious biscuit was created! It is the variety with the prestigious Piemonte IGP Hazelnuts: a trilobate hazelnut, with a particular weight and toasting flavour, carefully selected for the traditional dough of our Biscuits.
The first of Deseo's goals is to create balanced and tasty biscuits by focusing on the excellence of the ingredients, natural flavours, artisanal processing methods and traditional cooking systems.
Every year new combinations of flavours are produced, always attentive to the needs of our loyal clientele already widespread in Italy and worldwide.
Since 1875 the history of Maglio has been entwined with that of the Maglio family. The family have passed their passion and their know-how down through the generations, weaving inventiveness, affection and risk taking into their entrepreneurial adventure.
The Davide Barbero company, which has been established since 1838 has passed through the history of Asti, marking it positively for 7 generations.
The first vintage of Santa Cristina Vinsanto was produced in 1946 by Marquis Niccolò Antinori.
The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the "Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri", the Florentine Winemaker's Guild. -
