Fattoria Le Mortelle is located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, a few kilometers from Castiglione della Pescaia, in an extraordinary and fascinating position both for nature and for the history of the places that surround it.
The Antinori family has always been present in these lands. In 1863, a patrimonial deed mentions Poggio Franco, one of the finest vineyards on the estate, among their possessions, together with other plots of land.
Since 1999 the family has worked both on the vineyards and on the new winery with the belief that the area, still emerging in the Italian wine scene, is highly suited to the production of quality wines and that here the characteristics of the terroir and of the cultivated varieties.
The soil, of medium texture, sandy and silty, has a predominantly siliceous-clay composition and in some areas, rich in very fine gravel.
