Description
Prato Biscuits - also commonly known as cantucci or cantuccini - are part of the Tuscany confectionery tradition that sees them as a perfect end meal in combination with Vin Santo.
Dark Chocolate Biscuits are a greedy flavor variant of the Biscotti di Prato, with which they share the same identical dough.
Prepared with just 4 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, dark chocolate and free-range eggs. They do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
Recommended pairings:
- for end meal with Porto, Marsala, or Sherry
- for snack or breakfast with coffee or tea, cappuccino, fruit juice -
History
Since 1858 our biscuits have been baked daily and packed one by one by hand in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
In 2013, a new recipe with dark chocolate is added to the traditional recipe of Prato Almond Biscuits.
The hatboxes have been used since the 1920s to ship our products.
A common object in homes, up until the 1960s, for the non-accessory use of hats in menswear and womenswear up until that time; Ernesto Pandolfini thought of using hatboxes as shipping boxes.
In 2008, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of our Biscuit Factory, we created this Mini hatbox with 200g of our Biscuits; ideal as a gift pack, it can then be reused and recycled as a container for different types of objects: clothes pegs, for toiletries, etc. -

WHEAT flour, sugar, dark chocolate 20% (cocoa, sugar, cocoa butter, Bourbon vanilla pod), free range EGGS.
