-
Description
The 'Imperatore' hatbox offers a choice of biscuits from the Antonio Mattei biscuit factory combined with products from carefully selected companies.
Contains a 500 g pack of Prato Biscuits, the 500 g classic recipe Panettone baked for us by the Filippi pastry shop, and a 375ml bottle of Santa Cristina Antinori Vinsanto.
Prato Biscuits are prepared with 5 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds and pine nuts, they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
Classic Panettone, a great expression of the Italian cake-making tradition. The rediscovered magic of starter yeast, the best flours, butter, eggs and sugar, skilfully worked to create the rich risen dough. The choice of the best candied orange peels and the sweetest raisins completes the creation of this delicious panettone, with its soft and delicate texture.
We have chosen Filippi's excellent Panettone for you.
The Santa Cristina Antinori Vinsanto has an intense yellow with amber highlights color, the wine shows aromas of toasted hazelnuts, honey, and apricots along with light notes of citrus fruit. Full-bodied on the palate with honeyed and nutty flavors, it is a long and supple wine with an intense finish of chestnut flour and herbs. -
History
Since 1858, Prato Biscuits have been baked daily and hand-packed one by one, in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
In fact, in June 2019, the Biscottificio Mattei Blu bags were officially registered and trademarked as a Unique Color; an important and rare award that definitively gives this historic packaging its uniqueness and belonging to the historic biscuit factory.
Now all our Biscuits are packaged with the Blu Mattei bag, with elements of different colors that distinguish the different flavors.
The story of Filippi begins in 1972, in Zanè, Vicenza. Mum Maria and Dad Giuliano started to write the first chapter of this story with the production of their first naturally leavened baked desserts, focusing on authenticity and tradition. Today, with their children Andrea and Lorenzo, the story continues with the same dedication and the same spirit.
The first vintage of Santa Cristina Vinsanto was produced in 1946 by Marquis Niccolò Antinori.
The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the "Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri", the Florentine Winemaker's Guild.
The hatboxes have been used by the Biscuits Factory since the 1920s to ship our products.
A common object in homes up until the 1960s, used to store men's and women's hats up until that time; Ernesto Pandolfini thought of using hatboxes as shipping boxes.
Even today they are collector boxes, reusable as containers for small objects. -
