• Description

  Prato Biscuits - also commonly known as almond cantucci or cantuccini - are baked every day in our Biscuit Factory, they are part of the Tuscan confectionery tradition and are perfect after a meal paired with Vinsanto.
  
  Prepared with only 5 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds and pine nuts, they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
  
  Recommended pairings:
  - for end meal in addition to the classic Vin Santo, perfect also with soft grappa
  - for a small snack, with coffee or cappuccino
  
  Once opened, store in a cool and dry place in the same tightly closed package.
  
  Our biscuits are packed in a paper bag lined with aluminum foil, specially designed to ensure the best possible preservation of their freshness and quality. They have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of production. The best before date and batch number are printed on the bottom of the bag. We always ship our biscuits as freshly baked as possible.

• History

  Since 1858 our biscuits have been baked daily and packed one by one by hand in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
  
  Biscuit tins are traditionally used for better preservation of biscuits; The biscuit factory has been offering them since the last century, not only for storing biscuits, but also as reusable containers.
  
  This cookie jar continues the series of tin packages conceived and designed by 2 talented Florentine illustrators, Simone Massoni and his wife Ilaria Falorsi, and represents Tuscany as we see it at the Antonio Mattei biscuit factory.
  
  Starting from the idea of ​​a geometric grid typical of maps, just a few iconic monuments of Tuscany have been highlighted. These internationally recognised landmarks stand along side the two main entrances of the biscuit factory, the historic Biscottificio in Prato and the brand new Florentine Bottega Museum. Finally, There is also an excellent stroller, Antonio Mattei, founder of the Biscuit factory way back in 1858 and for the occasion an almost involuntary tourist with his vintage walking cane in wonderland.
  
  The blue colour is inspired by the splendid Tuscan skies, which can be admired from seaside, countryside and mountain locations as well as from important historic cities and small villages.
