Description
The Prato Biscuits - commonly known as cantucci or cantuccini - are part of the Tuscany confectionery tradition that sees them as a perfect end meal in combination with the Vin Santo.
IGP Piedmont Hazelnut Biscuits are a greedy flavor variant of the Biscotti di Prato, with which they share the same identical dough.
Prepared with just 4 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, hazelnuts and free-range eggs. They do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
Recommended pairings:
- for breakfast with cappuccino or chocolate in the cup
- for end meal with dessert wine
- for a small snack with milk or coffee -
History
Since 1858 our biscuits have been baked daily and packed one by one by hand in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
In 2019 a new biscuit was born, even more delicious! It is the variant with the prestigious Piedmont IGP Hazelnuts: a trilobate hazelnut, with a particular weight and toasting flavor, carefully selected for the traditional dough of our Biscuits.
In June 2019 the Biscottificio Mattei obtained the registration for Brand of 'Colore Unico' of its Blu bags; an important and rare award that definitively gives this historic packaging its uniqueness and belonging to the ancient Biscottificio.
Now all our Biscuits are packaged with the Blu Mattei package, with elements of different colors that distinguish the different tastes. -
