Biscottificio Mattei: what’s next

The fifth generation and TASTE 2026

Biscottificio Mattei: what’s next

A new year, a new beginning pleasant and serene.
This is what we wished for all our collaborators, and what we wish for all of you as well.

Speaking of new beginnings, an image from a few years ago comes to mind: Filippo and Pablo, my grandchildren, then still little, during the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Biscottificio.

It feels like yesterday that these two children were running around the Mattei factory like little spirits… and yet, it was 2008! Eighteen years have passed, and today they work alongside us: Filippo, my sister Marcella’s son, is in charge of the Italian commercial division and oversees the maintenance and improvements of our historic building in Via Ricasoli, Prato.

Pablo, my brother Francesco’s son, is responsible for the warehouse and purchasing management.

Vittorio is not related to us by blood, but since 2016 he has been part of the extended Mattei family and works in the packaging department.

On some occasions, I have the pleasure of having both my nephews by my side - for example in October 2022, when we set up the exhibition of gift boxes at the Mattei Workshop Museum in Porta Rossa.

Or during the preparation of TASTE 2024 and 2025. They help me with the heavier work, and I have fun playfully confusing them a little! They don’t know it, but in those rare moments, I’m the happiest aunt in the world. This year too they will be joining me (I hope).

The TASTE 2026 will take place in early February, and we have a few surprises in store for you. If you’re curious, we’ll be waiting for you at Fortezza da Basso from February 7th to 9th, at our Stand M14 in the Central Pavilion (ground floor).

We wish a good beginning and a bright continuation to the fifth generation of the family that has been carrying the Biscottificio Mattei tradition forward for 150 years.
